In which he complains about his health

Uhhhhh, I still get cramps in my feet, calves and forearms. And my lower back hurts a bit sometimes, and sometimes my neck is a little stiff. And I wish I didn't have celiac sprue. Aaaaand that's it. Not bad for a decrepit old cripple, huh?

  1. A brief perusal of internet crampology disparages my original comment that you may need more salt, potassium, or magnesium in your diet(though you may and it wouldn't hurt). Those who know seem to feel that the cramps are part of your progression to better physical fitness, and nothing to be concerned about. They (and I) do feel strongly that by stretching the affected area while experiencing cramps can be helpful, and that stretching after exercising will be very helpful. Furthermore, stretching during your exertion, but after you have warmed up somewhat (not while the muscles are cold) may have a preventive effect for you. Many athletes swear by it. I personally favor the gradual warm up. Finally, I would recommend you commence the practice of yoga at a studio near you. Not only will it benefit your feet, calves, forearms, spine, and neck, it will be very beneficial to the rest of your body, your psyche, your spiritual health, and it doesn't hurt that a high percentage of your fellow practitioners will be good looking and very fit women. It's win, win, win, and I don't mean Charlie Sheen! Good luck in your quest; may you find the Grail!

  2. Exercise? Me? I think it's the growing pains, personally.

  3. Speaking of mild exercise, I'm tracking my trainer as he runs the Boston Marathon. His 25k time is 1:49:26 and he's currently on course for a 3:05:08 race. Go Bash!
